We found the best prices for seafood at NY Marts - comparing their neighbor and Hong Kong market. We like all of the markets for different options but, for seafood this market is slightly less for the same fish. Pro-tip: you need to be able to recognize what you want by sight, there are prices for every fish but not every fish has the name in English written on the tag. Also, you get what you want in the plastic bags and then ask them to clean and weigh for you. It helps to know a few words in Mandarin for the fish and meat department, they really appreciate it if you say what you would like in Mandarin. 请切掉头并清洗干净。谢谢

Honestly, it's just another Asian market. Obviously you will find most Chinese products. But American products are more expensive compared to American markets. The place is typical with slightly unpleasant smells due to the fact that they sell fresh seafood and raw meats. Sometimes they have offers that I don't hesitate to take advantage of. Remember to please check the expiration date of the products and even check the product. I once found a package of turkey sausages that were not yet expired but the color and texture of the product was already rotten (they probably take little care about the refrigeration of the products) Because there are products that should be frozen and are simply on a normal shelf. It's not a bad store, I even shop often but it takes me an hour to check the products making sure they are not damaged before buying

They used to sell cooked soy sauce duck, soy sauce chicken, roast pork, soy sauce squid with food stamps legally, but they don't do it anymore. The prices are great. You can buy a 56-oz can of Kikkoman sesame oil for about $25.00. For off-brand sesame oil, you can purchase a can of sesame oil for about $16.00. The fish is so fresh a lot of fish are still moving. The food is great, and the Han are super-friendly. You must go there!

Super cheap groceries in Chinatown. Store is a little dirty but for their prices that's fine. Great place to stock up on specialty sauces and spices as well as a huge assortment of veggies and fresh seafood.

So don't get me wrong New York Marts always has high quality items so one has various choices of unique eats. My quest was to find matzo ball soup. My go to place closed after 40 year's and I needed repair and was in need of healing! To my surprise they do a pretty delicious soup! I recommend this MArket place

This friendly market sells these "Zespri SunGold kiwis from New Zealand" that are worth your trip! I had never tasted such a sweet kiwi.... The fact is that I had never seen a yellow kiwi before and that prompted me to purchase them, also, the nice manager behind the counter kept on saying that those were yumi-yumi. If you will like to try those kiwis, there are placed by the Managers Counter at the entrance of the Market. This place is awesome. Great variety of Fruits and Fresh Produce. Chinese and American products. Large variety of dairy products, pasta and grains. Meats and fish. Great customer service! Budget friendly. $
